Syphilis
  What is it It is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. They can manifest in three stages. The major symptoms occurring in the first two stages, during which the disease is more contagious. The third stage may not present symptoms and, therefore, gives a false impression of cure of the disease. Congenital syphilis can cause miscarriage, birth defects and / or death at birth. The test should be done in consultation with the 1st prenatal, in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy and at delivery (Regardless of previous tests). Caution should also be special childbirth to avoid sequelae in the baby, such as blindness, deafness and mental retardation.
Forms of contagion Syphilis can be transmitted from one person to another during unprotected sex with someone infected by contaminated blood transfusion or from an infected mother for the baby during pregnancy or childbirth. The use of condoms in all sexual relations and the correct monitoring during pregnancy are means of prevention.
 

 

Sífilis
O que é É uma doença infecciosa causada pela bactéria Treponema pallidum. Podem se manifestar em três estágios. Os maiores sintomas ocorrem nas duas primeiras fases, período em que a doença é mais contagiosa. O terceiro estágio pode não apresentar sintoma e, por isso, dá a falsa impressão de cura da doença. A sífilis congênita pode causar aborto, má formação do feto e/ou morte ao nascer. O teste deve ser feito na 1ª consulta do pré-natal, no 3º trimestre da gestação e no momento do parto (independentemente de exames anteriores). O cuidado também deve ser especial durante o parto para evitar sequelas no bebê, como cegueira, surdez e deficiência mental.
Formas de contágio A sífilis pode ser transmitida de uma pessoa para outra durante o sexo sem camisinha com alguém infectado, por transfusão de sangue contaminado ou da mãe infectada para o bebê durante a gestação ou o parto. O uso da camisinha em todas as relações sexuais e o correto acompanhamento durante a gravidez são meios de prevenção.
